I carved this actual sized snow owl out of bass wood. I made the eyes from turning plexiglass on a drill mandrel while sanding them with different grades of emery cloth and jewelers ruge. The talons are carved out of cherry wood. The branch I found while trout fishing along the Owego Creek.

This is a friendly site. But that has nothing to do with the kind words on this piece. It is excellent. I have tried a bird (once) and I couldnt get it to look that soft . I would love to see you do the same in a figured wood.
