One last early piece. She is cedar from the lumber yard. The charred timbers are Cedar (spruce)from a Forest fire up in Alto, New Mexico. Her Eye is the natural knot, The tear is hot wax.. This was the second piece sold by a Gallery. 12" X 6"

O wow now that is just so amazing, at first I didn't see it then it hit me. I would buy that in a gallery

Feel free to critique my work I will not take offense, so don't worry. I find it to be helpfull when other carvers point out areas I need to improve.
I know and can see clearly exactly what, I want to carve.
But on the long journey from my head through my arms,
So much is lost before it gets to my fingers and tools
.

The lady that bought it, bought it two times, first on a 90-day lay-a-way, 1/3 down. came back 5 months later, paid full price.She is a principle at a Houston elementry school, her son had past away in a car accident, her granddaughter would never stop crying, she bought it to keep her grand-daughter company.
