He's 4-5" tall (sorry for the guesstimate, but he's with Sally and David now)

The colors are artist oils mixed with MinWax "natural" stain. Basically they're color tints except for the areas where the pigments too opaque to pull it off, like white. If I have more time for drying I prefer boiled linseed oil in place of the MinWax, but that seldom happens :-).
