Snapping Turtle in black walnut burl. Extremely hard to carve. He's 9"w x 8"h x 10" deep. Only clear danish oil applied. Camera shy, couldn't get a good pic.

That is neat Dan .. You have to look at it closely for a moment before you see the form of the turtle ..

Thanks. Very nice. A turtle is on my "want to do" list -- not a snapper, though; I've been too close to too many big, scary ones. A really nice piece.
