This is inspired from a painting seen in Hawaii in 2003. Caption under the painting read ''Horses escaping a shipwreck''.
This piece, just finished in 2007, is 16'' x 18'' x 8'', is african mahogany, finished with 5 hand rubbed coats of tung oil.

I recall seeing this piece in its earliest stages. Fantastic piece of carving ! I will ensure that the Suncoast Woodcarvers in Clearwater Florida get a chance to see and admire your work. At the ''Canada's Capital Carving Competition'' last weekend, this piece took first place in the 'In-the-round' animals class and second best of show place in the overall division. Thanks for asking.
