Carved from Hard Maple. The King (Neptune stands over 12" tall...about 2.25" square at the base. The mermaid is the queen (10.5" dolphins are bishops (10" sea horses for knights (7"... not pictured) and tail standing fish for pawns ( 5"...not pictured)The most difficult pieces were the castles with the Octopus on top, my customer asked for them like that and I said, "Sure No Problem", about the same time that came out of my mouth I realized that was 32 additional legs to work...if nothing else, it made me learn to keep my mouth shut! The castles are about 3" square at the base and about 7" tall. The board itself is made from Maple and Walnut and is a little over 31" square.
