This carving is 24" X 32". It is carving from a panel of mahogany that I purchased from a yard sale for pennies. The panel was originally painted and as I carved away the surface I notice how beautiful the wood was. The image of the angel and child I drew freehand directly onto the panel. The panel took approximately two weeks to complete. It is hand carved. I did not sand the surface at all. I used a hand rubbed Tung oil finish thinned with mineral spirits.
