Could you give us a little more information on how these are made?
I see that they are drums, but what is the drum surface made of? Is it made like a barrel? what are the plugs for? is there an internal frame?

Hi Thor,
I made a 20 sided cylinder with 3/4' material. In
order to get the approximate size boards for the circle, you divide the circumference by 20. To find the bevel angle of each board you divide 20 into 360, which gives you 18 degrees. The divide that by 2 & get 9 degrees. That's the angle of the cut on each edge. Then you lay out two strips of duck tape on your bench, a few inches longer than the circumference. The lay out your strips tightly & roll the into a cylinder for a dry fit. If your joints fit good, unroll & apply polyurethane glue & reassemble & clamp, making sure it is round. Then you temporarily Glue a 1 x 2" across the top,& route out a 1/8" deep rabbet on the inside of top for 1/8" plywood. Then you set your router circle jig to cut to size the 1/8" ply top. Remove temp 1 x 2 & glue on top. I used a belt sander to round the exterior making a slight taper like barrel. The round dots on the drum are just decorative. I made them with a plug cutter.
I hope this will help. The also make router bits for cutting 9 degree angles with a router table. you may be able to find some info for making cylinders on the internet.
