This project is much more simple to do that it appears. I like to saw out a chunk of seasoned maple where a limb extends from the main tree. Just saw out the basic outline on the bandsaw then whittle out the detail then slap on a little paint and protective polyurethane. It's quite a conversation piece! The base of the "chopping block" is about the size of a silver dollar in the photo. Enjoy!
