This is beautiful, Kathy. I love how you have saved so much of the bark. The subtle colouring is also lovely. May I ask how you coloured it? Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, everyone Dan I love that you recognized my work that is cool!
Leslie, I used Oil pencils for the base and Oil Pastel over the Oil pencils then three coats of Deft Satin Lacquer. In the beginning after the carving was completed I applied one coat of Watco Danish Oil, let dry then started with the color work. Thank you for asking does this help?

Hi buddy hows it going I love the way you painted (or oil penciled) gave it a nice mossy look. Very original I like it.
