Fantastic!!!! The realism is extraordinary!! What is the actual depth of the carving?

Thanks Loretta & Sam. The highest point of the elephant's trunk is 1-3/4"; the deepest point is at 1-11/16"...the light actually comes through at the horizon line. lol The frame face measures at 1-9/16" creating the illusion that the elephant is stepping out of the frame.

Absolutely beautiful carving of an African Elephant with fantastic dimension and perspective. Superb craftsmanship. Had to move my chair to the left to get out of the way of that charging animal. Love it.

For not knowing what you're doing, you sure did it well. That carving is excellent, extraordinary even. I look forward to seeing more work such as this in the future. Well done.
