Thanks for stopping by my gallery and taking the time to rate my rainbow. It was a club project. I learned that carving it was only a small part of the job. The painting was time consuming, but the results are good. Many thin washes and letting it dry naturally were two lessons learned. Using a hair dryer to speed things up can cause the paint to blister, so the next one will be even better. I've always wanted to do a ball in a cage. You do great work and inspire me to do one. I have plans to do a golf ball in a cage. Have you done one of those? Thanks for your visit!

Back moments later...discovered the link to your web site right in the message, of course. Excellent character in your Santas! You really capture personality in each one!

John,
Thanks for the message. I don't really have any specific questions on the ball in cage. Just more of an overall one on freeing the ball from the bars. I did one a couple of years ago but didn't plan well, and ended up making the ball too small, so it'll squeeze out of the cage. I have ball-in-cage blank (holes drilled to start removing the ball), but I've hesitated on it 'cause I don't want to goof it up. I'll get one of the guys in the local club to give me some pointers. Then I'll try one with the twist.
