    G'day Herb,
    Sorry, but I missed your request and have just noticed. My method?? is as explained below.......

    I read how to do these on the forum here some place, but basically, once the hole is drilled the arrow shaft is shaped to a suitable diameter leaving a block at each end for the feathers and arrowhead. I then placed the arrowhead end in boiling water for an hour or so, then compressed it to the maximum in an engineers vyse, removed it after an hour, trimmed just enough wood to let it pass through the hole. Once that is done place the end back into the boiling water then once it returns to size, you are free to shape it as an arrowhead and carve the other end to look like feathers....job done!
    I hope I have explained the process clearly enough, wood used was just pine, nothing special and of course you can experiment with patterns and materials....Have fun.
