    Hi from Prince George.

    I'm just getting started.

Are there any resources in PG, like tools or wood?

I've worked with wood before, but relief carving looks amazing.

Any suggestions for getting started up here?

    Thanks

    Bob

If possible I would like to see some carvings of ravens. I have a dozen plain, simple carvings of crows, several dozen doves, several hundred shore birds and decoys. I've never seen a raven.
    Many thanks. Nancy Goff ngoff08@yahoo.com

Hi, the head is separate, it is drilled and fit over the end of the stick. The sticks vary in size, you can resize the end of the stick to fit in the hole you have drilled in the bottom of the head. The hole in the head to accept the stick end is usually 1 1/4", and drilled in the bottom of the head to a depth of approximately 1 1/2". It is my practice to drill the hole in the head block before its carved, and fit to the stick. If you get the hole the wrong angle, off center or any thing, you have only spoiled a cut out, not a completed carving. Hope this helps.
