    HI flyfisherman, I love to fish myself. the wood you ask about is from Heinecke Wood Products. there web sight is Heinecke Wood Products you can go there to see the wood, then order on the phone for what you wish to have.(714 822-3524) I get the 3/8x6"x48" pieces. they are great to buy from. and the wood is just grand to carve. the weather hear is Hot and muggy but not bad for the desert. nothing like it is back there. stilll HOT HOT HOT. thanks for your message.     Again very nice carvings. So how weather out there is it as muggy as it is here in michigan? we just had a heavy rain and under severe thunder storm warning til 9pm est. Were did you get such thin basswood? Craft store or thin it down yourself?
