    Mike.

I live in the Austin area. Been here since 1995. I got my amateur license in 1992 or 1993 when I was in Arizona. Don't get to play radio very much these days, since work is keeping me busy and I took up this crazy carving hobby. The only times I've been on HF in the past few years is during Field Day. One of these days I'll put up another antenna and set up my HF rig at home again . . . Until then, I'm strictly 2 meter and 440 MHz.

But at least the carving keeps me from going totally insane. . .

    Hi Jim.
Always nice to run into other hams. I have been a ham since 1970, and have been active almost all the time. The exception was a couple of times when I was in the Air Force and couldn't set up a station where I was stationed.

I've only been carving since late April, but am having a blast learning. I am doing mostly relief carving right now, but have done some chip carving and and Santa Clauses as well.

Where n Texas do you live? I spent 30 years in Texas. I lived in Lubbock, San Antonio and Houston.
Best 73 and hope to see you on the air sometime.

    Mike
