    Sorry, i am having a heck of time with answering private quesitons, hope this gets to you. I know some world class fish carvers that have forgotten the lateral line, as for the auxillary process, it is a flap of triangular skin just above the pelvis fins. I don't know if aware of the National Fish Carvers Guild. It started in Oregon by a bunch of very nice guys.
