    David,

    There wasn't as much rot inside as we thought there would be, but it was developing and from the looks of things it was more advanced in the roots. The tree had developed a definite lean towards the house, so I think it was a matter of a relatively short time before it failed. I was sad to see the tree go, but I really didn't want it ending up on my new roof.
