I appreciate your offer and look forward to having you critique my work. I am however, currently engaged in battle with my computer. It does not seem to want to accept the photos from the memory card. Once I can get it to accept the upload, they'll be on their way.

    Thanks again,

    Dave

    Hello,

I just wanted to comment directly on the Cane Bender and tell you what a wonderful job you did!

There is a lot of talent on this site, but I really like your work and am fascinated with your ability to bring your pieces to life. I'm interested in what you do to make your eyes so warm and lifelike. By the way, if you ever tire of the name Cottonwood, Geppetto would suit you fine.

I'm fairly pleased with some aspects of my carved faces, but I can't seem to put that spark of life into the eyes the way you can.

I thought I saw a recent posting on how to carve eyes, but can't seem to locate it, so I took the liberty of going to the source; hope you don't mind. Any suggestions you can offer would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help and also for posting your work. I have enjoyed it greatly.

    Sincerely,

    Dave Dunford

PS. I spent a few years living at Fort Leavenworth as a kid, (Dad taught at the CGSC) so I might be considered a distant neighbor.
