Hi Gary, in my honest opinion Drake makes a much better tool then Denny or Shipley, plus the price is about the same. Gil also stands behind his tools 100 %. I think Shipley is also using a thinner steel now for the Denny tools which I guess is good and bad. When I first tried chip carving I broke the tip on a Drake chip knife, I called Gil and told him it was my fault and asked if he could just fix it, he sent me a brand new knife at no charge. I also got a custom made knife from him at the regular knife price. Great tools and real easy to do business with. Enjoy !
