    Larry,
I'm glad you enjoyed looking at my work. As for being productive, you have to remember all that is displayed was stuff I did over the years. I'm getting less productive in my "aging" years but still have many projects I want to get done just less ambition to get them done.

I get most of my wood from Woodstock in Rapid City,
Wood Stock Supply Inc. - Wholesale Lumber, decorative hardware, Hinges for Furniture and Cabient industries.
I don't go real often but when ever I'm in Rapid I stop there to see what they have on hand. I've picked up some curly maple and some curly cherry from them over the years but it's pretty hit and miss. I use rotary tools for the most part so as far as soft versus hard maple I don't know as it would make much difference to me. I get more soft curly maple because that's the type they have had most often.

    Thanks ~Mike

Came upon your site in power carving. Spent about 2 hrs enjoying your work. Man, you are productive. Loved you playing poker with yourself also. Your fantasy pieces are exceptional. I am interested in doing some high relief carving. I am building a bar and want to do something along this line with the door panels, maybe with fish or deer. Have a couple of questions if you don't mind sharing. Where do you get your wood, esp. the figured maple? I didn't know there was a "soft" maple. Is it better for carving? I live in Buffalo and have been using a place in Casper(A&H Turf &specialty)
Hope you don't mind me emailing directly. Thanks, Larry
