Default Whats On Your Carving Bench?

Hi All

Happy 2012 to you.

Things seem kinda slow so I thought I'd pose a questions to my friends here in the 'Found Wood' Forum.'

So 'Whats On Your Carving Bench or Table' what kinds of projects are you getting started on or finishing?

If you can please show us an image or two or three of what is on your carving bench or table. If that is not possible then please tell us what is on your work table.

Here are mine.
First image: lt to rt Butternut Comfort Bird, Juniper Base for another carving, Cottonwood Mountain Man, Juniper Robed Indian Woman.
Second Image: Finishing up my Aspen Indian Girl that I have worked on for a few years off and on...this is the year she is finished.

Actually my carving bench has been empty for several months now. I went through a dry spell where I didn't want to carve. Recently I've been wanting to carve a llama but work and other projects have so far gotten in the way.

Hi kitaye:

Sure know what you are saying about an empty bench. It does sound like you are gearing yourself up to carve a llama and I truely hope you do. I feel so much better when I'm carving or thinking about my next carving.

Thank you, for sharing

Hi RUssL:

Sounds like quite a project, one of which you must need a lot of space for the wings span. What type of wood are you using?

I have been out of the shop for a couple of weeks. I am getting ready to start s few new projects. I got some cypress knees for Christmas and I have a couple of orders for canes.
I will be back making chips and dust next week.

Hi Randy:
Sounds like you are going to be very busy with cypress knees and canes...good for you!
I've not carved either a piece of cypress wood or a cane. I have three aspen sticks that were given to me by various friends for walking sticks.

I'm working on a caricature. Need to carve a gnome for a friend, and got some books on faces and relief carving wildlife.
