Default Walnut Nestled Bird

Hi all,
Cut this piece off a fairly large limb because there is a knot with "splits" which looked like a bird sitting in a nest. The knot ended up being a big headache due to the splits but managed to get some minor detail work done. Majority with angle grinder, dremel and once again a BUNCH of sandpaper but the pics don't do it justice, has beautiful grain that pops out in person. She's approx 10" long, 5" high and deep with only natural danish oil applied. Hope you like her and as always, all comments welcome.
Dan

Dan, your nesting bird is just wonderful and what good carving and finishing you accomplished...even with it being a big headache just look at what a wonderful piece of artwork you accomplished. Beautiful wood.

Hi Kathy,
Didn't think I'd be using this piece of wood until that bird jumped out at me, glad you like her and thanks for the very nice comments.

The hosta's close to the house are still doing pretty good but the season is changing and it won't be long til the frost hits em. Thanks for the nice words.
