Hi all, A couple of weeks ago I was so inspired by a carving that mieto had done so I asked if he wouldn't mind if I tried to "copy" it, which is something I almost never do. I'm still inspired, but the more I looked at it, the more that I wanted to add my own touch. It started out as a female, but after I spent several more hours on her, she became what my wife & I both think looks like a young brave. I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks, Dan |

Its a nice piece Dan and I agree with the aboriginal impression but in my view, for whatever thats worth, it looks more South American than North American. I guess that shouldn't be a surprise if Mateo is the inspiration.

Thanks Dicky. I also agree that it looks more like South American, but have to correct you, it wasn't Mateo, it was Mieto who gave me the inspiration. Dan |

I asked my wife (She never reads the post so her opinion was not influenced) and she said it could go either way but leaned toward a young brave. I have to agree with her.

No Dicky, it's Meito, not me. (honest mistake.) I have never seen the original piece that inspired this, but this one is nice. but I agree that's it is different, from your original female design. Hey Dan put up the original female image that you did, so we can compare the difference.

Isn't it funny how we all see the same thing a little differently? I like your changes. But I thought of a male from Hawaii. Warm sand, cool breeze, icy drink...... Wanda

Thanks mateo, I've tried several times to upload the old version, but for some reason it won't let me. I wanted them both posted so you can see the difference. Dan |
