Suppose you've got a woodspirit that isn't carved into a walking stick. How would you display it? Hang it by a string? Mount it on a stand? What kind of stand? Flatten the back and make it a wall hanging? Of course a lot will depend on the size. What about something 6" long and 2" in diameter? Inquiring minds (mine!) want to know! Any and all suggestions welcome. Bob

I think it might look good hanging from a leather cord, or I would flatten the back if possible and hang it directly on the wall. All of the ones I have done were hung directly on the wall.

I've only carved one - and it hangs on the wall.

Hi Bob, Akll my Woodspirits are on Sticks, but 1 . I mounted it on a Base with a Triangle wedge on the back at angle. I rested it on the tip of his Beard and leaned it back and glued it to the Wedge. My Son-in-law has it on his desk and seems to like it. Merle

Fix it to your front door.

Good question, so far I have just left the bottom of mine flat and just let them sit that way. Never thought to make wall hangings.

I hang my mine on the wall. I either drill an angled hole and carve it a bit( thanks to suggestions from folks here!) or pre-drill 2 small holes and use screw eye hooks with a wire between them. I put wood glue into the pre-drilled holes before I screw in the eye hooks.

Hi Bob: Most of my woodspirits are flat on the back with a picture hanging hardware. I run a little bead of glue onto the screw which help secure the screw into the Cottonwood. Before I started using glue I have some screws come out of the soft bark. Now I don't worry that one might come out of a sold piece. Kathy
