I agree about the sassafras, cuts smoothe, has a beautiful grain and smells good to boot. BTW, a chainsaw will help bring one of those trees down. Thanks !

I don't know about me sometimes Papa Dan. I did a double take when I looked at the first pic and though "Is Dan off his rocker? What's with the two headed owl?" LOL. The picture played tricks on me until I viewed the rest and saw the error of my perception. Nice one mate, love the wood too. I found it very easy to use myself. Can you see the two headed bird in the first one, or is just my whacked out imagination?

Dan great carving love the subject and the size of this carving. Sorry just getting to it but with the loss of my best friend havent been up to much latley. Great carving by a great artist.
