Wanda wonderful imagination you are doing just great. I feel it needs something where the dolphins are not. Now I dont know but I feel that if you sanded it very fine and stained it a lighter shade it would look great. Having said all that remember it is your carving follow your heart do what you think it needs. Its already a magnificent carving if you did nothing else. So you do what you need to do but be sure to let us see what the final descision is. Colin

Colin, I never thought of sanding it. I put a gloss coat on the dolphins and so far have left the water natural. Here is the shot of it as of right now.

| Hi Wanda: What a beautiful carving! I love the free and spontaneous feeling about it and it has wonderful flow. Wouldn't do another thing to it ~ great creativity! Well done! Bravo! Stand up and take a bow!The squeaking~ ~eeking sound is pretty cool...I've heard of wood speaking to you but that?...that is awesome! I can understand how it would be a little un~nerving...but still very cool. Keep on carvin'!Sending you positive thoughts for your health. Leslie |

Thanks Leslie for the flag waving. I am glad you felt the freedom in the carving. Watching dolphins play is such a joy. I have been lucky enough to see them on several occasions. Yeah, the eeking did kindof give me chills. I found a lot of sand in the old root. Thanks for the positive thoughts on my health. I didn't mean to make it sound so bad. It was really a plus exceptfor the old knees. Wanda

It looks brilliant Wanda. I don't think I'd ever have the vision to see something like that in a piece. So it's good to know I can just ask you, lol. I was going to post last night but the words escaped me. Still do. WOW! Rooster. |

That really is beautiful work, Wanda. Nice job coaxing those dolphins up out of the water.

Thanks Jim. I looked at that piece for a while before I saw the first dolphin on the left. I was going to use the cut off piece from the dolphin most exposed to carve a complete dolphin and try to suspend it over the others. The center dissentagrated so I used the two ends and holes already there. Wanda
