Default My student's carvings

For the past 4 or 5 weeks i have been teaching my friend Kenny and his wife a little bit about carving. Two weeks ago Kenny bought himself a knife and some gouges and today he showed up with these relief carvings he did at home from cottonwood bark
The student may become a better carver than the teacher.
Also I am teaching my wife a little and she is pretty good i will post her carvings at a later date. The problem here is she likes my favorite knife. Maybe thats not a problem I can buy a new knife.
Anway here are Kenny's carvings, I am very proud of his work.

Well, good job Kenny! and Congrats to his teacher too. Thinking about relieft carving Cottonwood Bark is a special challenge. Give that boy some Basswood and turn him lose.

Always good to give up that special knife to your wife, she'll love you for it. I bet it's a good knife too Ladys know these things. tee hee

You should feel great Herb, that you are helping your friends to create some carvings of their own. Looks like they are good learners.

You certainly gave Kenny a good start. Good for you.

Very crafty to get your wife involved. Under such circumstances, TAS is so easy to justify (Tool Acquisition Syndrome).
