Default Koi in Black Walnut

Hi all,
A week or so ago FlyFisher posted a beautiful pillbox he made featuring a Koi and a couple flowers which got me inspired to do my first fish, thanks Fly.
The piece is approx. 9" long, 5" high and almost 4" thick with a very beautiful grain, carved with dremel, hand tools and lots of sanding with only natural danish oil applied for the finish. My sis & brother in law have a very nice Koi pond so I carved this for a Christmas present to them. Thanks for taking a peek.
Dan

Hi Merle,
Don't think I'll ever run out of wood, because we live in a woods! Mother nature does her thing every now & then by knocking down an old tree, usually diseased but almost always has a critter here & there waiting for me. Enjoy the Holidays my friend & thanks for your very nice comments.

That's a really nice piece, Dan. You do know how to make that walnut shine. I like the way you used that broken edge (at least, it looks like it was broken) for the tail, giving the carving some depth. Good stuff. Thanks for posting.
