Default CottonWood Bark House

here's a piece I finished and decided to enter in the National Capital WoodCarving Competition, held this past weekend in conjunction with the Wood Show here in Ottawa, Canada

as this was the first piece I ever entered I went into Novice

I took 1st for Class - Bark Carving
and 2nd for Division - Chip Carving, Bark Carving, Mythical Characters and Found Wood Carving,
one nice blue ribbon, one nice red ribbon and a gift certificate for Nutmeg carving Tools. woohoo

now tell me what you think of the carving

cheers,
eLaine

Congratulations Elaine
for the awards and especially for that delightfully whimsical house, really brings to mind stories of fairies, elves and gnomes from our childhood.
Regards
John

Welcome! Very nice work on the bark house. Glad to see you using the natural cracks of the cottonwood bark!
