Default Black Walnut Owl in Flight

Hi all,
As I was out by the woodshed a few days ago I happened to catch a glimpse of an owl diving to pick up a small rodent which is how I got this idea. I've got some large pieces of walnut from a downed tree so I grabbed my chainsaw and roughed him out then hit him hard with the angle grinder, then dremel and finally hand tools for his eyes. His wingspan is 37 1/2", not trying to make him realistic just enjoyable to look at so thats why I left his wings oversized. He needs to be suspended so I'll figure out a way to hang him as soon as I figure out where the heck he's gonna go. Finished him with natural danish oil, thanks for taking a peek.
Dan

Hi Al,
I didn't have a clue where to put him to take a pic but as I wandered around the yard the crabapple tree looked inviting and worked great. Thanks for the nice comment.

Very cool carving. He will be a delight to see wherever you hang him!

Looks like your grass is dying. It's turned all white.

Hey Ole Buddy, you nailed him and looks good just where you got him. Great job Dan, should keep the Crows and small Varments away. Merle

Nice owl, the wood color really works well too! Like the others, I like it where you've got it, looks natural.
