Thanks Claude, I think I did it. I finally remembered how to cut and paste. My computer skills are very limited. Thanks Wanda

Claude--I would like to do two things to my site. I would like to add a picture in the same place where you have your picture with the Santa hat, and I would like to put some pictures on a gallery. At this point, I have no pictures at all. I believe I need to pull up some pictures to my gallery from the My Pictures on my computer. I have gotten directions to put a picture on my screen for a one time shot, but it did not stay there after the initial message. I'm probably dense in terms of understanding the directions. Could you help me? A number of thoughtful people have given me suggestions, but I'm still not where I want to be.

dbowers: First, go up to the Green bar above the messages and click on "User CP" When the new page comes up, on the left side, Under "Control Panel", the first section is "Settings and Options". In this area is "Edit Avatar". Click here. Now, you have to decide if you want one of the pre-made avatars, or one of your own (like my photo). If you want one of the pre-made, page through them until you find one you like, then click the little circle next to it's name, and then scroll down to the "Save Changes" button and click that. You're done. However, if you want a custom avatar, such as mine, you'll need to reduce the size of whatever photo you use. It can be no bigger than 80 x 80 pixels (roughly 1 1/8 inches by 1 1/8 inches on most computers), and no more than 19.5 KB (KiloBytes). Here are the instructions for reducing the size of a photo: Picture size Now that you have a photo of the correct size sitting on your computer's desktop, go back to the Edit Avatar area, and in the third section down (right under the pre-made avatars), click the little circle that says "use custom avatar" next to it. Then, a bit further down, click on the button that says "Choose File". A pop-up window will appear - navigate around in it until you find your photo, then click "Choose" in the pop-up window. It will disappear, and you'll be back at the Edit Avatar page. Click on the "Save Changes" button, and you'll be done. To upload photos to a gallery, go to How to upload images to Carver Galleries and read all the instructions. Always make sure you scroll down to the "Save" button (or whatever it's called) Claude Last edited by Claude; 03-08-2009 at 05:09 PM. |
