If you need to make image smaller

  • Windows XP Users can download a free image resizer by clicking here
    • Follow the simple installation instructions
    • Once installed navigate to the image on your hard drive
    • Right click on the image file name and click resize pictures
    • Select custom size and enter (480 x 640)
    • Click the advanced button
    • Make sure the box "Resize the original Pictures is not checked"
    • Copy of image will appear in the folder along with the original image
    • It should have renamed the file with (Small) in the file name
    • Use the (Small) file to upload

  • Digital Camera should include software to save images for the web. Read users manual instructions.
  • Additional free image editing software www.imageresizer.com or www.irfanview.com
Below you'll find file types you can uplaod along with the maximum specs.

Here is a sxs procedure with photos.

1. Save the file to your desktop
2. Find the photo's icon on your desktop
3. Right click the icon and choose "Resize Image"
4. Choose Custom Size and enter 480 x 640. NOTE: The dimensions on the screen shot are not correct.
5. The new file will be saved on the desktop. Upload the one with "Custom" in its title.

Thanks again Thomp for these great screenshots!

Thank you SO MUCH for your help in resizing photos. I'm not sure I understand it COMPLETELY, but I think I can begin learning it my self.

Just followed instruction of Admin. The 2nd reply, was so simple. Now I know how to resize. Great info. You sure do learn alot on this site and didn't even cut myself. If this works there should be a picture of a little house in a cottonwood tree knot. Thanks, Bigarm
