You can also upload a photo to our gallery and use the same function.

Unfortunately, when you upload a photo like this, it's much more difficult for people on dial up to see the photo. That is the main reason for the attachment size limitations. Many of our members are still on dial-up.

Actually, if you click on your attachment and check the properties when it's enlarged you'll note that it is the same size as mine. ...17.5kb. I was only suggesting this method so as to make your examples more easily understood by those who might use them.

I learned something new today! Thanks Lynn. That makes sense to me. I'll have to do that.

Bob, I have a couple of dumb questions. I am new at this so thank you for your patience. How do you upload and attach your picture to your name on posts? I uploaded my pic for my profile fine. I also uploaded an attachment photo of a carving in process of tung oil finishing OK. Also, I guess I really made a mess on uploading my carvings to the gallery. I uploaded them in order carved but they are all mixed up. SO is there a prefix, number or letter that I can put in the title to organize them? Thank You,
Phyllis Singer

Phyllis:
Go up to the green bar and click on User CP. In the next screen, look on the left under Control Panel for Edit Avatar. Click this link and follow instructions. The Avatar must be a certain size or smaller - instructions there tell you the limits.

Claude, Thank You very much. It worked.
I have been deleting the odd pictures in my gallery, sorry I made a mess. Is it ok to ask questions in the forums pertaining to the topic? I need info in several areas and don't want to be a pain in the butt,Phyllis

The way I look at it, the worst that can happen when you ask a question is that you'll be told to not ask it in that place... Our more enlightened moderators will just move your question to the appropriate forum, and then usually attempt to answer the question. So...ask away!
