Thanks Thomp for providing these screen shots to me. Here is the basics of attaching a thumbnail to a thread If you are starting a new thread, follow these intstuctions exactly. If you are posting a reply, you must click on " (I know there are ways to do it using Quick Reply, but I'm trying to keep this simple). 1. Click on "Manage Attachments" under the "Additional Options" section. This will bring up another menu. If you have pop-up blocker enabled, you must allow this pop up (Click on the bar at the top of your screen and allow the popup) 2. Click on "Browse." This will allow you to look on your computer for the file. 3. Choose the photo you want to upload and click "Open". Last edited by BobD; 03-18-2009 at 10:13 AM. |

| 4. It will bring you back to the pop-up menu. When you have all the photos you want to upload, click "Upload." You can close out of the pop-up menu. 5. You will be back at the Additional Options menu. The file you want to attach will be shown in Red. 6. Click on "Submit" and the file will come up with the photo attached as a thumbnail. Is it cool to post images from another site, like photobucket or webshots? Or are we looking at keeping dial-up users as happy as possible? I can resize photos from the "bucket" to meet guidelines, for sure. |

We try to keep dial-up users as happy as possible, but as long as it's not all the time, it's fine to post your own images from another site. Bob |

I found it much easier, provided you have photos stored on web sites like Picasa, Flicker, etc., to use the HTML option for uploading a picture. Like this: Doing it this way, especially as you're trying to create "How-To" lesson, allows the viewer to clearly see your example incorporated into the text. It also seems to do away with the need to resize photos to fit within the Managed Attachments requirements. I don't know if this is exactly Kosher with forum guidelines but it really seems to work. But again, it only works if you have a photo with a HTML address. Just a suggestion.
