Default Wizard the 5th

Three weeks ago I discovered Gene Messer and his videos. Since then I've gone bonkers over carving and am I having fun. I think my wife thinks I'm on drugs with all smiles on my face but she likes the results thus far.

This is my 5th carving, a simple wizard. He's 4 1/2" tall and I'm particularly pleased with this guy, not because he's so great but rather because I had no pattern. I just started with a block of wood and a vision of what a simple wizard looked like. I hope you like him as much as I do.

Thanks, all, for the kind comments. Thanks also for all the help I'm being given as I make this trek up the learning curve. From my vantage it looks like a long way to the top...or even the middle :-)
