Wealth of information. While I have not tried flat plane carving I am a big fan of the style.

Hi! Does anyone know any good places where I can find Trygg wood or stone carvings. Carl Olaf (Olle) Trygg was my great grandfather and I would love to expand our collection!

Hello to members of the Trygg family & all other carvers,

This is fantastic: WCI forum is hosting a Trygg reunion. Let's hope more family members check in. Maybe provide some pictures of the collection.

I like the Trygg style but don't collect them. I did find a website that sells Trygg carvings (www.wyrosa.com). Another WCI forum member also mentioned this site in an earlier post in this thread. I suspect the family collection may include carvings shown on this website.

To find additional Trygg carvings may require some hard searching of various auctions, antique shops and yard sales. Kind of like that TV program American Pickers.

I do have one WCI article ( Fall 2003) by Harley Refsal about the Trygg family and their carvings. Refsal also wrote a book Woodcarving in the Scandinavian Style published by Sterling Publishing. It is available through Amazon. However, a new copy is pricey.

Something to ponder: you have the name and the genes so why not get a block of wood and knife and bring back "The Trygg Brand"?

Yes really quite the surprise! I didnt know Nils had any kids, I've always been told that my grandmother's uncle Nils died in his early teens. Is Ellen and Sandra Nils' daughters then?
