Default Schools out!

Wasn't quite sure where I was going with this one. First off I thought about a "School of Rock" type thing but then settled on a school kid. It wasn't till I came to the head that I thought I might run into trouble with carving an old man's face on him..... so I took the easy option and gave him a huge fringe! LOL!
In future if I try to carve a kid or a woman should I give them bigger eyes, smaller nose?? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wow - you really have been busy. The shirttail is a great addition - definitely says "child".

Small children, thier eyes are closer together and bigger eye balls, children stay excited about anything.
Old men and old women, thier eyes are close together also but smaller eyes. When you are oldddddd your body its self draws up and old people get shorter, the joints in thier bodies loose thier abilties and everything starts to fall down, plus older folks worked all of thier lifes and plain wear out.
Enter the Marine as a young man,I was measured at 6'2",yesterday at the VA,I was 6'1" with a few inches but not 6'2". True fact!

Like this little red headed school chap!

Man,you are knocking such neat carvings out like spreading butter on hot toasted bread.

Nice work indeed and your painting is really coming along as well.

Forrest

Thanks again!
Yep Daddio, my brother said Angus Young as well! LOL!
Forrest , thanks for info on the eyes! I'll try and incorporate that in my future attempts! I'm working on four different pieces at the moment and trying to create some movement in one of them.
Thanks again Cliff and Gene for the encouragement!
