Default Scandinavian Backpacker

This is a Harley Refsal figure that I just finished. I don't know about her hiking in those wooden shoes though. She must have tough feet. I tried to get the flat plane look. Hope you like her.

This piece came out wonderful especially her face. I have been a follower of Harley's work for many many years - you did his pattern justice!

Thanks Ken. OK, I'll admit to using a gouge on the face. Tried to use only a knife but just had to fix it up a little. I'm a Refsal fan too.

Slowmover, I would yodel if I could. Thanks for your comments.

You must be snowed in up there Joe, You are really cranking out the carvings. Nice job. That is how the carvers did for the Anri company. Carve all winter, and then in the spring they take them to town to sell.

Tom, you are right about that, it has been snowy and cold here. You will have to tell me about Anri but it sounds like a good plan.

Thanks Herb, are you snowed in in WY too?

Nice little hiker you carved there Joe! I like her alot especially the facial expression and the way you painted her...Hikers are 'tough' so she won't have any problem hiking in those little wooden shoes! Ha! Enjoy and safe carving to you.
