Default Sara

Hi All,
This is my latest miniature.
She pleases me no amount because :-
- She was a very simple piece with no hands and shoes.(I need one without a face now and I will be in heaven)
- I can see the "paint wash" is starting to work right for me with practice.
- I "decided" to leave her face unpainted to give that pasty faced been on a boat for months look (and darn me it works).
- The Flat Plane style that has been eluding me somewhat has miraculously showed better in this one and I know why. (It is because I spent less time fussing and more time carving).
Sorry I have to go now as I need my daily fix of wood shavings.

You are coming along. Keep the faith. As is often the case it is when you quit trying so hard that things just simply begin to flow.

Safe Carving and God Bless,

Mark

Nice carving, Rob. Rather than no face, put a bag over her face and it could be a Halloween carving!

She's looking fine Rob! Think we all struggle from time to time with a piece....and start trying too hard and get frustrated! I've got one I'm doing the now like that! Walked away from it twice already........ better that than launched and my dogs finishing off in their ivory on wood carving stayle! LOL!
I just saw the 'Willow Tree' figures in a shop the other day.... they aint got no face!!
Jim....... "put a bag over her face...!" Hahahaa!..... think we've all dated that one!! LOL!......too much!! LOL!
