Rob,

Great job on the little guys, that is going to be a neat chess set.

I think part of getting comfortable is the fact that you do automatically "feel" the grain, and adjust accordingly. Also, part of that comfort is no longer consciencely thinking about cutting yourself, but instinctively moving hands, fingers and other body parts out of the path of the blade.

Well Mark you asked a darned fine question about the remainder of the Chess pieces.
I wouldn't say that I haven't a clue because I vaguely have a plan but at this point the plan is in pencil, very flexible and easily changed.
I aim for Flat Plane Style throughout and to use inspiration from Harley Resfals Book, Genes Tutorials and any other flat plane source I can muster.
The borad I know how to make the rest well - - - wish me luck.

Rob, enjoy your self. Slight difference in size,diameter,beard,face can get the other pieces to the set.
