Thanks for the kind words, I think that the more I practice, the more I don't have to "think" about what I am doing. Hopefully will lead to a less mechanical and more natural carving.

Looks like your face are coming along nicely. I am also on a fae carving kick, but it is because I am in search of the perfect face/head for a body that I have done and have in mind for a scene. i just can't get the right face that is in my mind transfered onto the wood. I envy folks that an carve a specific expression or face on demand. i have a whole lot of heads rolling around the carving area...kind of like that movie 8 Heads in a Dufflebag.
