I made one of these fellows when I was 14 in woodshop at highschool. It was a first venture into "shaping" a pre-cut piece with rasps, sandpaper and flat carpenters chisles and I messed it up badly. I found this pattern and recognised it from my junior years and had to have another go. It still doesn't look right to my eye but at least it isnt a total mess. I think it looks good. My grandson is a penguin expert he told me what was wrong, they have flat webbed feet.
