Hello folks ,this is my first post on here , I wanted to show picture s of my first ever attempt at carving anything beyond a pointy stick. I came across Gene's series of videos on youtube and was inspired to see if I could actually do this . I followed along with the series on the "Miniature Santa". I am happy with how it turned out but thought I should put it on here for some critic and advise . carving is something I always admired but I really had no clue where to start .
Thankyou ,Gene for your very informative videos .It is so satisfying to create a figure from a block of wood with just a knife!

He looked good with out any finish...even better now that you've painted him. You've really brought him to life. Excellent work! Now you can show me how to do it!
