blusteel i like em! the beauty about every carving is that you learn something new EVERY time. there are no mistakes just learning opportunities. keep up the carving and keep posting your work.

There is nothing wrong with your little guys. I think they are cute... I bet by the time you make your 20th one you will be totally surprised of how far you have come in your carvings.. Best of luck..

I tried a couple yesterday from some 1" square pieces. Tried to improve the cuts and modify the mouth locations as suggested. I think I'm seeing a little bit of improvement but it's relaxing to whittle on them and with more practice I might catch on to this interesting style Gene makes look so easy. Didn't want to clutter the forum with a new thread. Thanks for the suggestions and tips.
