Got inspired by Allen's Shelf Elf and some pictures on Don Mertz site, so I took a piece of wood and created my own shelf sitter. I think my hopes outweighed my abilities, but it was fun..... ![]() Took two pictures just for good measure.... |

How about two "shelf-sitter hands" to put on each side of him? Still looks good. Joggernot

I spend my weeks on the road and don't have paint with me. I think I will dunk him in linseed oil and them put a laquer/poly/wax or some kind of finish on him. I did that with another carving and I really liked the natural finish. -kurt

Thanks Gene, I dont' have a small knife with me, so the nose needs some work. I really need to get a "small" detail knife. I like the cheek bones, they are an addition to my carvings. And the nose is oversized, although without a smaller knife, I can't "finish" it. |
