Default liitle ladies

I have all these little guys carved so I am in the process of making them some female companionship. I cannt for the life of me carve a pretty woman but I guess my guys aren't really in the hansome category either. More to come later.

Herb,

Great job on the female companions for your guys. I like the one in the spotted dress, but I always have liked the blondes. Keep up the good work Herb.

Safe Carving and God Bless,

Mark

Nice ladies. They're gettin' better. Carving a woman's face is tough, but you're getting there.

Keep them coming Herb, I'll bet you don't hear those cowboys complaining. I think we get so accustomed to putting the wrinkles in the men that we just do it to the women too.

This is an interesting thread, maybe caricature faces are not suitable for women. Maybe, a little less chipping and a bit more rounding in the face would improve the look.

Maybe, a women's face needs to be softer and to do that we need to take the harshness out of it. Maybe, we have to break some rules. ( Are their any rules, or just those that we subconsciously impose on our selves? )

I wonder, if using a bit of fine sandpaper, and a little rub just to take the roughness out might bring back the Dolly Patton look.

I am just thinking aloud and typing while I am doing it. Does too smooth a face take a carving away from the Caricature style and not give us the effect we are looking for?

Pete
