Doc, The title of the Jack Price book is Carving Small Characters.
It has one pattern for a full figure Little Guy and one pattern for carving a face
Both of these have extremely detailed instructions the most detail of any book i have seen. It is well worth the investment.
Between this book and Gene's videos I think I have become a much better carver

very nice carving I always enjoy Jack Price style carving I thought that I responded before I have a habit of pushing the back arrow instead of the reply bar. I Bet your uncle was thrilled with it.

Doc. Jack Price book and pattern cd is available at the CCA site in my opinion both well worth the price

OK Bob I agree I found a copy from a used book seller---New Condition $5.95. I have thumbed through it once or twice and it might be just what I wanted. Now I have some Basswood stock I will resaw to be able to make a few rough outs, and then try to carve. I am working on the habitat for my Blue Heron which is also ready for painting--should make a debut in a couple of weeks on the proper forum. "Doc"
