Default Its Oscar...well sort of

A week or so back I posted my first ever carving that I did in pine with a utility knife. I did this while I was waiting for my Flexcut knives to arrive and while I was sourcing some lime.
well my knives arrived and so did my lime...so time for my first attempt at flat plane carving and my second attempt at carving altogether.

Any advice really appreciated

Yep, I remember him... it's Oskar.

And it's flat plane all right.

That's a great looking Flat Plane Carving, forget your first. I could never get the hang of Flat Plane Carving, to me that's hard. Keep it up. Merle

I've had that problem as well, Merle. My FPC are a bit less than flat plane; more of a rounded flat plane...or maybe a "smooth carving with lots of tool marks"...

Speaking as a mathematician, and being pedantically precise, all carvings are flat plane. Taking it to the extreme, the boundary between any two molecules is "flat", so even a "smoothly rounded" figure is nothing more than a carving with microscopically-small adjacent flat planes... but, of course, you all knew that, so I apologize for being reiteratively redundant on the subject...
Claude
ps: I still think it's a great carving!
