Simon,

Great job and a subject I can relate to as we used to attend many sheepdog trials in the North of England when I was a wee'un. I can see all the shepards now lined up on the hills with their dogs at their feet watching the trials and waiting for their turn.

My only comment is that the weather was never that good for them to strip down tae waistcoat an' shirt sleeves. It was always cold, windy and wet and most of them wore old smelly wax coats and the dirty green welly boots. lol

Can't wait to see the dog with the flock. Och, it brings a wee tear tae ma eye so it does.

Thanks Ed, hopefully wont be too long for another slide show.
THank you Gene my friend, you never cease to amaze me with your ability to do so much for the carving world. New Utube tuitorials, new Blogg site, carving demonstartions, carving figures for others, carving your own figures for pleasure...... and working in a day job! .....Phew!!!
Aye Curt, Jock had his top dog Skye with him!
Cheers John (Blinky) . you're not gonna belive this but I had them all carved and one of my collies chewed them all up! LOL!
THanks Corey. I still haven't gotten round to doing the Pete LeClair face, or a female face! Keep getting distracted with ideas!
THanks Robert. I just keep trying to get better.
Elliot you just let the cat out the bag! LOL! I'm trying to do a Visit Scotland PR job and how it rarely rains and the wee midges aren't that bad! LOL! THat's why the grass is so green and lush over here!
You'll have noticed this as well when you go to a trial.......... "Where's all the dogs??" Next thing they're jumping out of the boots (trunks) of cars! Farmers!..... they're a breed apart! LOL!

Simon,
Great job on this guy. I can tell it is all or nothing with you. once you get started you really go to it. I am totally blown away at how quickly you have improved.Your carving and painting skills are quickly becoming top notch. If you can't tell it in the typed words there is a loud ring of jealousy there. LOL. As always thanks for sharing.

safe carving and God Bless,

Mark

Thank you Hal, that's very kind of you to say..... but I'm only a beginner (4 months) and learning from you guys all the time.
THanks Dave, how you getting on with the new Goodman!
Thanks Mark for all your comments and encouragement! I really love this carving lark and wished I'd discovered it 30 years ago! Maybe the timing wasn't right! I'm early retired now (52) so got time to whittle away! LOL!

Simon, your carving just keeps getting better. Wonderful stuff, and a real inspiration. Wish I had the time to work on it more.
